Hi! Welcome to BYC! You have gotten some sound advice on keeping chickens safe. There are some good articles on coop design on this site. Here's a link to some of them. Once you have an idea what you are going to build, I recommend starting a thread and getting feedback in the Coop & Run forum for feedback. And build twice as big as you think you need. Chicken math is real.
