I just signed up for this site because I saved three roosters from the woods behind my work last October. I am now raising up 15 hens and starting to research how to introduce them all. I had chickens previously but had taken a break due to a too busy schedule. I have rhode island reds, barred rock, black austrolop, easter eggers, and white leghorns. Hoping to get some advice to my many questions once I post in the thread.

Kudos to you for saving the roosters! You have a beautiful mix of breeds in the hens.

Integration is nearly always challenging -- I'm doing a bit of it myself with a hen who has been away from the flock for months, recovering from an ailment, and six 8-week-old pullets.

Hope you get answers to all of your questions from this great group of experienced and generous folk. Welcome to BYC!

Welcome to BYC! Are you planning to keep everyone together?
Be prepared for an upheaval. The roosters may need to reestablish their pecking order, and the hens will do the same. Some hens may get overbred while others may try to resist. On the other hand, it may all be smooth as butter.
Best of luck!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
That's great you saved those boys. They were probably cockerels so they are still young.
With all three of them, it will be tough to integrate them with the pullets. If you choose just the best of the three to be the flock rooster, you would have to rehome the other boys or form a bachelor pen for them. If you leave them with the 15 girls and you only have a single setup and not a lot of space with lots and lots of structure in the space, the cockerels will likely fight quite a lot and / or be on the outskirts of the flock avoiding the senior cockerel.
