Hi there, my name is Jeni and we live in Qld, Australia. I'm fairly new to the world of chooks and ducks. We have 5 Silkie Bantams and 3 Khaki Campbell ducks. They freerange in our backyard during the day and are locked away at night. The Silkies are really friendly and come when they are called and will sit on our laps and share food. They are so much more than just pets. The ducks are 6 months old and are just starting to not be so scared of us... I have just posted my first thread in the duck forum too as I have some questions on my ducks. :)

you even have a choice of Aussie threads. "Australia, six states and one funny little island," or "Australians, where are you?" Plus a bonus: they also hang out at the emu threads.

Back to chickens, Silkies also are known to make great broody hens.
