I have wanted chickens for a LONG time now, and have finally bought a house where I can do what I like.

Yesterday I came home from work to an early Christmas present of a coop(!) and four little Silkie fuzzbutts! My boyfriend got them from a local breeder, so of course he doesn't remember the ages exactly, but the two sets are a couple of weeks apart. I am absolutely smitten! We're finishing the run tomorrow, so pardon the temporary digs in the photos. Is it true that Silkies are near impossible to sex prior to egg laying or crowing? The seller claims they are all pullets, but we'll see.

Sorry for the chick spam, but I'm ecstatic!

You could try posting photos of your babies on the 'silkie thread," - there are several dedicated silkie threads - if you put that into the search box, some should pop up. Usually 4-5 mos. if when breeders are able to be fairly positive about sex
