Hi! Im a Kinda-sorta-new chicken mother. We have had our chicks for 1 month now, we had 4 chicks but sadly one of them died (We let her free-range and she swallowed something, you can ask about what happened if you want). So now we have 3, Rocky (My rooster), Peep (My sisters Hen), Coco (A roohen. That's what we call him, its a loooong story

, that belongs to my other sister), (The one that died was named Frappe and she was my mothers Hen)
SO ANYWHO! Rocky is the biggest Rooster and he is a White leghorn, I have no idea what Coco and Peep are.

Well that's all I have to say really... also I have no idea how to post questions. Sometimes Rocky will wake up with his mouth open a little and start breathing fast but he will stop after a few minutes... bad dreams maybe? Anyway, that's all I got to say...

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about the loss of the one chick, good luck with the rest of the flock!

Welcome to the flock.

Two roosters and one hen are going to lead to a very overbred and possibly
dead hen. A rooster can handle 10 hens - you have 2 roosters. One hen doesn't stand a prayer once male hormones heat up.

Hope you will consider getting a lot more hens or rehoming the roosters.

Yes I am aware of this problem... But we can get anymore hens until next spring

And I don't want Peep to die!

You'll eventually need to keep them separated all or most of the time until you can get more hens. You will have to have a plan to integrate your new birds with your three older ones next year and will probably want to keep the new birds close but separate anyhow to socialize with each other. Can you divide your coop in different parts, they will probably be happiest if they are beside each other but separated by wire?
