Welcome to BYC, Margaret! My wife and I visited Ireland on our 37th wedding anniversary and loved your beautiful countryside. Do you have chickens? If so, what kind do you have?

Glad you liked Ireland, did you like the rain lol? Which part did you visit?
I had nine rescue hens, but one died last night, I think it was old age! I also have a flock of mixed Bantams, which increased by fifteen new chicks ... I had four broody hens a few weeks apart, twelve chicks, nine weeks ago and three chicks one week ago ... five roosters from the new ones, also five older roosters. Sadly, no one wants roosters ...! So altogether, ten roos and twenty seven hens, I'm losing count! How many do you have? Do you live in the states?

My family are all of Irish ancestry. My wife and I love Ireland. We spent some time in Dublin and then in Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains. We we're there in early June for our 37th anniversary (that was a few years ago),and the weather was beautiful. I'm sorry one of your hens died last night. I live on Oahu, Hawaii, and have 25 hens (7 Black Sex Links, 7 Black Australorps, 4 Buff Orpingtons, and & Easter Eggers).

LOL - quite simply, age is beginning to show and my once shiny chestnut "coat" is becoming more grey by the day, lol......so the name seemed to fit, there are plenty of days I feel that, as the song goes, I "ain't what I used to be".
