Help - Abandoned Egg - Still peeping

Okay the incubator is already at 100. It's a genesis 1588. I didn't know it would warm up that fast. I usually plug it in and leave it a day before even checking it. LOL

The humidity is up to about 65% and rising. I'll watch it for a while and let you know what happens.

A heat lamp or heating pad,or electric skillet you can put a damp cloth in the bottom and put chick in a carton untill the bator is heated up.

. . . and, i agree with swtangel321. Get the bator warmed up with the humidity up and let the egg sit in those ideal conditions first. That may be all it needs to start the process itself.

Give it some time, but if the peeping starts to diminish, i would step in. It's okay if the peeing stops every now and then for it to rest. But if the peeping gets quieter, well, just use your instincts. Trust yourself to know if and when you need to help. The times i've failed is when i didn't listen to my gut.

Happy hatch prayers heading your way!

Another question - If the chick survives, could I put it with the other chicks and the momma accept it, or would I have to raise it alone?

Yes, you can put it back with mama hen she should have no problem taking it back !! I would let it fluff up a little and then bring it to her (just stick it right under her) !!
