Help!!! about two week old silky chick found in mud (pics)

Thanks I did use a Q-tip, that was one of the first things that I grabbed as I ran into the house with the baby. I think no it can breathe out of it's nostrils some. It ate some baby parrot food and some chick crumbles. I noticed that its one toe is curled, is it too late to try to get it to straighten out?

The chick still seems weak, should I keep it in overnight? Will there be a priblem with the mom taking it back? I would like to keep it with me tonight so it can get its strength back but I don't want mom to freak out when I bring it back either. What should I do?

I would keep it inside for now. Have you given it any sav a chic? try typing in the search (top right hand side of screen) splinting for chickens I think you will find good resource. Wishing you and your chick the best

Keep it inside until it is much stronger. Plan to slip it back to mom some dark night.
Use a blow dryer carefully to thoroughly dry it. Hypothermia is likely it's worst problem.
If you have been watching it, you may have subconsciously known it is a weak chick. Did you notice the foot deformity before or is it a factor because it is chilled and unhappy? Keep it warm and feed/water in front of it and see if it comes around.

I used Kaytee baby bird handfeeding formula once to save an adult Silkie mix.
Go ahead and feed it the formula. I think the warmth and the food will help you build this chick up.
The mom will take it back one night, just get it strong! Good luck - praying for you and the little bird!

aw she looks stressed

I wish you the best!

do not take it outside with the mother, he will most definitely die. That weakness happens right before they die when they can't balance themselves and fall over.

I hope he/she makes it!
