My chicken is a bad mom she stops laying on her eggs 1/2 way trough incubation. This time I was prepared and put them in an incubator I truly have no idea how long she was laying I’m thinking 7-10 days can anyone look at theses eggs and give me an idea of how far along they are? When should I do lockdown I have an automatic turning and just want to prepare

The one white egg has me concerned with the air pocket!!

Just like what you said 7-10 days, the photos look like your half way there. Since you don’t have the exact time of incubation period, your best guest is to do a lockdown 8-9 days from today, just be on your watch just Incase of intervention.

This is my first time hatching but last 2 times bad mom killed 12 fertile eggs. How will I know if I need to intervene ? Or when they start internally pipping I think is the term?!?!

I'd guess 10-12 days on most, a few look further behind, maybe a couple quitters. I'd keep watching for the space between the chick and the membrane to get very slim (egg very full of chick) then I'd lay them down and stop turning. Watch for drawdown and/or internal pips, and bump the humidity quickly when that happens.

Lay them down ? On their sides ?

Sorry last question I’m assuming if I no longer see veins then they are dead?
