HELP! asap!--update with pics

Well she sounds like a princess and your doing your very best! I bet she is just loving being so tended to. I hope her laying the egg is a good thing. Ill be watching for updates!

i wanted to update..and pics

shes doin alright..her back is better it looks like, her side under her wing isnt doing so hot.. there was a puncture wound, and its all puffy and sticking out now, swollen around the wound.. she lets me put neosporin on her back but when i go to do her side she doesnt like it, squaking and going crazy. she roams the house and is eating normal, not drinking as much as id like, but seems like shes doing better than she was this weekend, except her side..


heres pictures that i took saturday or sunday i cant remember when..

doesnt look as bad as it did before, but the hair is covering most of it, it goes up towards her neck and behind her wings

heres her with a cone..that thing lasted two days before we took it off and let her roam without it, she doesnt peck at it anymore she was so funny with it, i think she was amused by it, she kept raising and lowering her head at us, like she was playing peekaboo

any recommendations on what to do about her side?

I would think a vet would need to lance the swelling under her wing, it sounds truly infected., so pus could drain out, etc. Maybe a different antibiotic for her. Please call and ask him what should be done.

She is adorable with the cone on. I never knew they did it with chickens, like they do dogs. I can tell you my dogs never looked adorable wearing one. I can just picture her playing peek a boo with you, what a lovely personality she has. I really hope she'll be all better soon.

Awwww. I'm so glad I found your post again. I think the chickin in a a cone should be pic of the week. She is seriously so cute. Sorry to hear about the under the wing thing though. I wonder what the vet would say ...maybe something like just bring her in I'll lance it for no charge. Just putting it out there for ya! You should probably call about that though. Like someone said it might be infected. Good luck with her she really is adorable.

Neosporin is for people you can get it about any where and sometimes you can find it with 'pain relief' in it.

This is a BIG nono for chickens they have reactions to it and they result in serous injury/death.... I feel like a warning lable​

I was thinking about her all night and found your post again.
So did you call the vet. it does sound infected. Hows your doggie doing. Darn instincts get the best of us sometimes
