long story short.........the vet didn't think I needed to tube feed he said I could blow her up he gave me antibiotics she has a HORRIBLE smell coming from her mouth. I men I cant describe it its so bad. I will explain about the tube feeding later I just need advice on the smell now. she is very weak but still going o scratching around eating bits here and bits there, what about the smell? I did the throw up thing again about 2 days ago and the smell was almost unbearable I mean I gaged almost threw up. should I do that again when she puts her head down the liquid runs out herh sometimes

Could be a bacterial or fungal infection.

what is that? Kathy. I don't want you to think I didn't trust your advice but I was scared after he told me that and I didn't understand why her crop was staying full of liquid all the time. I didn't know if I would be hurting or helping her. what exactly is a bacterial or fungal infection? he gave me 5 doses of heavy antibiotic he said on the 5th day she should be eating. she isn't eating good just here and there. he said after the 5th day of no improvement that I would need to make a decision

Here is a couple of article on the internet about sour crop. That is what the bad smell is. Sour crop can either be bacterial or fungal. She should not be outside pecking around. She needs be confined and only eating easy digestable foods that you give her, no free ranging. Is she taking any antifungal meds? Lots of great suggestions on here.
