HELP ASAP!!

Could be impacted crop. Does her breath smell sour? As far as I know, sour crop and impacted crop are different, but just trying to narrow it down.

When you say you can feel her neck, do you mean her actual neck muscle and spine, or her crop (craw)? The big pouch on the top of the breast that holds all the food? Is that what you're feeling?

no at least I don't think so I can touch it and put my fingers around it not tight of course but I can tall its her actual neck. I don't know what u mean by spine?? I can feel her crop so its two different things I am feeling

My hen (Cinders) did exactly the same thing as the black hen in the video - sideways movements like she was trying to dislodge something in her crop. She also had watery poop with undigested seeds and greens in. I did all the impacted crop stuff (massaging, feeding her olive oil etc), and it seemed to empty, which I thought was good.

However, what I didn't realise was that the blockage had been some finely chopped raw meat, which had got stuck and gone off in her crop and gave her a clostridium perfringens infection. It took me a while to work that out, but when I finally did (thanks to Nambroth and her thread about her chicken Coho with the same infection), a 10 day course of amoxicillin saved the day.

Needless to say, my girls no longer get fed raw meat of any kind!!

I am hearing a growling sound now. like our stomach would be growling if we were hungry. what does that mean. she still isn't eating much. she did eat a tiny bit yesterday evening. I also wormed her with the wazine. they lady at the feed store suggested it. I made her drink a good bit of water. my vet is closed today. I don't know what else to do. her crop feels squishy, she is still seems like trying ti adjust her neck area.

I would put some mineral oil and probiotics into whatever she will eat. I would also deworm her with safeguard (horse dewormer) A pea sized portion in her mouth once a day for three days. It sounds like an impaction somewhere which could be a physical impaction or caused by a parasite or some kind of infection, worst case scenario would be a tumor, but that's getting a bit ahead of ourselves.

If you really want to get some oil into her, look in my signature and read the tutorial on gavage feeding. This would help you put the oil and probiotics directly into her crop. Don't worry about gavaging the paste dewormer, its like peanut butter and if you put it on the roof of her mouth, she will have to swallow it.

If you don't have a feeding tube, you can use a dosing syringe alone, just don't lose it in her throat. But really any kind of soft rubber tubing that will fit on the end of a syringe will work for gavage in a pinch.
