Help! broken beak on 8 week old pullet.

I'm so glad the chick is feeling well enough to eat. That's half the battle. I promise her beak will harden and she will grow a new outer beak. Since she's a chick and her cells are programmed to grow very quickly at this age, she will grow in a new hard outer beak within a couple weeks. It will gradually add more layers of hard cutaneous material and she should look good as new within a month.

Watch the beak for bleeding and don't be alarmed if some minor bleeding occurs. This is normal. It just means she has healthy normal blood cells in her beak that will nourish the growth of her new beak.

Biotin and vitamin B 7 will assist in the growth of this new beak.
