Yes I have 16 eggs all with movement due to hatch July 4th. So I'm going to learn from my mistakes and try again!

Ok hi again! So my ducklings are tapping now. One had broken the air socket last night. No progress in the morning. I hope it was ok to put a safety hole in there. But I put it away from where he got membrane, is this ok? The other haven't broken the air socket yet but I can see them shadowing.

I think your getting a little to antsy,you have to wait 24 hours from internally pipped to external. When they break threw that air cell, there's no need for the safe hole yet. Give them at least 24 hours your on there time not yours.

Yes a little antsy. Not a very big hole then I left and came back he had made a huge hole. So he's doing an ok job. I think he made the internal pip early yesterday when I was at work. But yes thank you for the advice. I get so nervous with them. I'm still new I guess

No problem it happens, but just wait once they break threw that air cell, they have about 20% air so they aren't going to run out, but as a precaution, you give them 24 hours then make the safe hole, right now, Give them more time. they have the safe hole, so they can take as long as they want and it sounds like they are going to be out shortly,.

The update is I had 3 trying to hatch one pipped this morning and the other died while trying. I have the one from yesterday mostly out of the eggs he just doesn't want to push through. I'm making sure the membrane moist. He's just being a bum! Lol

What do you mean, you have one mostly out of the egg he just doesn't want to push through? are you assisiting?

He's seems to be capable to get out I think he's tired. I did peel some of the shell. He still alive and peeping. But he's probably tired poor guy: he started hatching yesterday. Little buggers take forever.
