Help...Can hear chick chirp in the egg and do I need to do anything.

Thank you for the information, ill try doing that i think i should have done more research before, cause i keep finding out information after i thought i had it figured out , i really hat to lose any more chicks.

So happy to hear this is normal. I have an egg in the incubator because it is an easter egger egg and we wanted to know what the chick looks like. He's been under mom until this morning when we had the first one hatch. I was sure I saw the egg move, but then nothing for hours. I just heard him peep and was concerned that there was no pipping. Glad to hear this is normal.

I have a whole slew of Serama and Dutch Bantam eggs that were in the incubator when the power went out during a wind storm. This was early in the incubation process. Set the eggs on the 11th power goes out all day long on the 13th, though i put a baby blanket over the hova bator incubator. and I had a small propane heater going, with required ventilation. Today, on the 20th day of incubation, I decided to check on them to see if they were still good. I opened the top briefly to candle them without picking them up and to add some warm water with a ketchup squeeze bottle. Temp was 99.5, humidity 79. I heard faint peeping, especially when I touched one of the eggs that I could not see through. There were actually 2-3 eggs that I could not see through, they looked like solid shell. Some of these eggs are tiny. I know that there is a lethal gene that causes short legs and makes it impossible for them to get out of the shell. I am so afraid that this might happen and they will be trapped, because there is no pipping, just peeping. Faint peeping. Should I just wait and hope for the best? I suppose there is nothing I can do but let Nature take its course. If nothing happens this will be one expensive storm, because I had 3 dozen eggs in the incubator when the power went out. A dozen local Seramas that I picked up from a breeder about 50 miles from here, 14 Dutch Bantams I ordered from a reputable seller online (arrived perfect, no cracks, packed well), and 14 Seramas I ordered from a blue ribbon winning seller-show stock. As I'm typing this I can hear the little babies. I'm a nervous wreck. Now I know how new fathers feel when their wives/partners go into labor!

update- the one egg that I heard peeping from had pipped on the wrong side of the egg. So I turned it over. I hope I did the right thing! I knew that it wouldn't make it if I didn't.

I didn't know we should stop turning the eggs. My dry air incubator says 3 days to hatch. I increased the humidity to 65 % and turned my eggs ( before I read I should stop at day 4 before hatching) hear peeping inside and saw a small crack. I had turn the egg and the tiny pipp is on the top..,
Since I don't hear anything and no zipping either but it has been about 1 hour...
What should I do? Nothing is my guess but I am so anxious... I have 3 eggs from my beloved Chica hen who was killed 3 weeks ago... I pray to have some of her babies...

It can take another 24 hours after the external pip for the chick to progress to the zipping stage. Interferences should never happen before at least 12 hours, and I think even that is too soon. Often the egg to chick vascular system takes 18-24 hours before it shuts down.

I also don't have a heat lamp and the store said it is 't necessary and a 40 W lamp would work...
Any advice is appreciated!

No, you don't mix the feed with water. You provide feed and water in the brooder and when they are ready, which could be a few hours or another day, they will eat and drink. You don't "make" them, eat unless they are sick or failing to thrive. You need a heat source in one end of the brooder, whether it's a heat light, fluorescent light, mama heating pad, heating plate...they must have the ability to get under/in a heat source. It should be around 95F for the first week. It needs to be up to temp before you move the chick to the brooder. Most people don't move them until they are dry and fluffed.

Thank you. Now Ibread some people say to keep the chick in the incubator for a couple of days. My friend said no longer than one day and others say once they are fluffed up... incubator is around 100 for the two other eggs...
It will be 10 hours when I return home today... should I leave baby overnight in the incubator?
