HELP!!! Candling ??????

OK I have been candling my eggs and they are at 5 days. I have them in egg cartons, small end down, turning them 3 times a day. When I candle them I can see veining, but it looks like to me that the air cell is in the small part of the egg.

Why????

Is this normal? They are all like that. What should I do?

put the light on the big end of the egg and you can see the air cell beter

The big end is where I can see the veining.

come from the top with light, ( shine down the egg)

There is a dark spot at the large end of the egg and it is positioned at a slant and that is where I can see the veins. Then the rest of the egg the light shines through.

the dark spot is chick, the space above it is the air cell, and the space below it is where chick will grow

I think this candling stuff is just going to take some practice. I haven't done it enough to really know what I am looking at. As the egg gets more full will it be easier to tell??

Mine are 5 days old too, and I can tell some exactly and some I am just scratching my head (what IS that? Two air sacks? A blood ring? a vein?) Can you post pictures?

Where should I be looking for the veins? This is my first hatching experience and I trying candling for the first time.
