I'm in the same situation in Princeton, NJ. 1 acre and neighbors are ok, but when someone in an adjacent area filed a noise complaint they came to look. You need 5 acres to have even one chicken here. I filed for a variance. I have to send letters to everyone within 200 feet of the property line and put a legal notice in the newspaper. Best bet is a call to the zoning/planning department of your township. Our meeting with the board is on December 7.Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
