Help!! Chick is hatching 3 days before lockdown! Humidity low and turner still in!

Incandescent bulbs work best. They give off heat. I think this bulb is a 60 watt incandescent bulb. The LED bulbs don't give off any heat.

I'm just not sure how to best read the behavior of this chick. At first it was huddled under the lamp. Then it was walking around eating and drinking. Now it's huddled over by the water for a very long time, not eating or drinking. Is it too hot now?

Probably resting. Just keep an eye on it. How are the other eggs doing? Have you candled them? If they are fully developed you may not see any movement. You can put an egg to your ear and tap on it and sometimes you can hear the chicks inside.

The chick will find it's comfort zone. If it's too hot it will move further from the heat and if it's too cool it will move closer. They do a lot of sleeping. One minute they are very active then they will sleep.

Don't see anything or hear anything from the eggs. I'm wondering if maybe it got too humid for them since they had to go into lockdown early for this early chick.
Is it ok to open it to candle or check on them like that?

I would. If they go into lockdown a bit early it shouldn't really matter too much. I have had chicks hatch in my incubator because I marked the wrong week on my calendar and the humidity was around 30%. Once I took some eggs out I thought were quitters and put them in an open egg carton sitting on a table in the room and to my surprise they hatched. I wish I had taken a picture but was so caught up in the moment didn't think to take any pictures. When are/were the chicks supposed to hatch?

What kind of an incubator are you using. How stable is the temperature and humidity? If the temp run high the chicks can hatch early and if it runs low they can hatch usually a day or two later. I think my latest hatch was on day 25 or 26.

My humidity is pretty high like 75% because I knew I would have to take this chick out and lose some humidity.

When you take the chicks or eggs out and when you put the egg back in, spray the eggs with a warm mist. It will help bring the humidity back up quickly and won't hurt the eggs.
