Help!! Chick is hatching 3 days before lockdown! Humidity low and turner still in!

Don’t panic. Chicks sleep a lot. This chick is still pretty fresh. As long as you have shown it food and water and it has been eating and drinking it should be fine. Chicks peep. Sometimes a lot. Could be that it’s lonely.

As long as it can get to heat when it’s cold and away from the heat when it’s too hot, it will regulate itself for comfort.

You may not start to hear peeps from the other eggs until sometime today or even tomorrow.

Put a regular old wall thermometer under that light on the floor so you know the temperatures. Those totes can heat up some times. You don't need to cook it. Also you can give it a mirror so it thinks it has company for now.

Oh man, I'm so intrigued now. Can't wait for an update. I remember hatching eggs in 3rd grade. It was so cool! I've heard most schools don't do that anymore. Kind of sad, really because seeing something be born/hatching is quite the experience.

We only do it in my kindergarten classroom because I took charge and made it happen! I remember doing it in school growing up and wanted my students to have the same experience.
One more hatched today and one is pipped! Hopefully more to come!
