Help! Chick with rye neck!

When I discovered BYC years ago, I was surprised at the number of silkies that had wry neck. At that time it was referred to, as "Silkie Syndrome." The thinking at the time was silkies with very vaulted skulls had soft spots where the bones in the head hadn't closed over. A bump or peck to the area could cause disaster. Some vets recommended treating with cortisone.

At the time my"Chicken Lady," friend had a feed store chick (allegedly a pullet) that had major problems. HIS head would hang down nearly to his feet. He would often walk backwards. He had additional problems where he would "feel" to the touch like he was burning up. He also had seizures. I thought he would die at any moment. But my friend continued with him. Little by little he got better and made it to maturity and crowing.

I don't recall the age/circumstances of his death and don't want to dredge that up after all this time and upset my friend. But it did indeed seem to be a miracle that he lived at all.

So now that he is eating on his own should I be concerned with overfilling his crop?
I'm just giving him 1cc three times(maybe four times today) a day.

So for the past several hours the left side of his face has been wet, and when I just checked there was a little brown stuff. Should I be concerned??
