Help! Chick with wry neck!

I would also use vitamin E. A poultry vitamin such as Poultry NutriDrench or Poultry Cell has E, B1, selenium and others. Sorry that she is not responding well to treatment. I hope that you can save her, but if she seems to be suffering, it might be best to put her down.

Did she just recently be put under a heat lamp? Was she not always given heat since you brought her home?
She has been under a heat lamp but because of her trouble walking she’ll bible away from it when she gets to warm and can’t muster up the energy to get back under heat.

It is good to place a thermometer on the floor under the hottest part of the heat lamp, and keep it 90 degrees the first week, decreasing the temp by 5 each week, but always have a cooler spot. The lamp should be a minimum of 18 inches away or higher to reduce the temps.

Hi there- Are you supposed to give the nutirdench directly into the beak of the chick? And How much? Thank you in advance.

How old is the chick?
More information - do you have a chick that has Wry Neck?

For very small chicks - I give 2-3 drops of PND twice a day. Yes, I use a syringe and give it drop by drop - let it drip on the side of the beak and the chick will usually take it in.
You can also use a q-tip saturated in PND and press it against the beak letting the chick take the liquid in.

Hi there! Thanks so much for the reply.

The chick just hatched over night. I’m not sure if that’s what she has, just a guess. But she is having a hard time walking forward. Her head falls back and she tumbles over.

Hard to say, but yes...I would get some PND into her twice a day when you get her out of the bator.
Try to keep her hydrated, then see if she will eat a little wet mushy chick starter as well.
