I'm not sure what to do! I am torn between leaving the chicks with mom or bringing them into the house to a brooder. The coop is insulated and has one 250 watt heat lamp BUT it is going to go down to -30 ish Celsius. Its going to be very cold until April. If I take them in with me, will there be any psychological damage to my hen? will that make her depressed? I feel like that's just to cold for chicks!

leave them with the hen, they will go under her. They have a heat lamp to keep them warm to eat. She will take good care of them.

As it's nearly -40 here right now and last I went down there was one out of the nest, I gathered them all up and brought them in. Fluffy my hen is still sitting on one last egg. These are light, buff and dark brahmas! 11 out if 12 eggs HERES A PIC!

Awww! How sweet. Thank you for sharing! Will you try to bring momma inside so she can brood the chicks for you out of the weather? Do you have a basement or garage or some other type of inside but still kind of outside shelter? Lol.

hi :) This weekend my husband is going to built a partition on one side of the coop so the babies can grow up beside the rest of the flock and be safe. Babies are all healthy and happy and Ive just been down to feed mum some homemade barley fodder and chick grit to get her protein levels back up. :)
