help: cockerel??

Honestly cockerels and cocks aren’t that noisy. You get used to the crowing and it becomes like background noise. How far from the house is the chicken coop?

it’s right against the wall but we plan on attaching wheels and moving it around. we have 2 acres right next to a highway. we also don’t want the neighbors to report us bc even though roosters arent illegal our township says we need 10 acres for a max of 8 chickens (which is ridiculous ). the neighbors all know we have chickens anyway. they come over for cuddles and ask when the eggs are coming. we already have a queue of people who want our spare eggs haha. my family also doesn’t like the idea of eating fertilized eggs, but a hen has to go broody for an egg to develop enough heartbeat to make me feel guilty about eating fertilized eggs. plus there are crow collars...

Pete as in Sneaky Pete for sneaking in with the girls :P , I thought the roosters would drive me nuts but I have found they are kinda relaxing and not bothersome at all. Especially with a heater or AC going. They are not a bother inside. Some of my favorite snuggle bugs have been/are roos. I hope all works out ok so you can keep him having been following you here for a while I know how much each of the four mean to you. you can also mind what direction the coop is facing so that his crow is kinda directed away from you and neighbors to help mitigate the volume. Having even a thin wall to kinda bounce his crow away from houses will significantly reduce the heard noise inside houses.

Update! She's a girl and lays lovely little pale brown speckled eggs :)
Can you share an updated pic?!? I'm incredibly intrigued by this bird. Would never in a million years have imagined it being a girl let alone laying a brown speckled egg with as much Araucana/Ameraucana as it looked to have in it.
