Does anyone know what I can do to help my clutsy LF Light Brahma who somehow managed to crack her beak?

Her name is Drama - and she fits her name. First, she gave herself an impacted crop by eating sand and wood chips. Then she hurt her leg and became my "chicken chair" baby - her leg has healed nicely BTW. Now this.

She's 13.5 weeks old. I adore my little lap baby - so I really want to help her.

Will her beak grow out? We gave her mealworms tonight to see if she could eat - and she can.

Beaks are like finger nails. They often grow back if the crack does not go back into the fleshy part. Do a search for it here, there was someone who had a chick with a similar problem, though much worse.

I would be worried about it getting caught on things and broken further.

An update on my little Drama. The day after she got the crack, the tip of her beak did break off. The good news is it seems to be growing back. Her "under-bite" seems to get smaller each day, and as she sharpens her beak on concrete, the beak is slowly taking on the sharpened appearance of a normal beak.
