Help... Crested ducking very unbalanced n wobbly

I got 2 crested ducklings today. They were from an unexpected hatch. There were no crested in the family at all.. its a rouen/campbell mix. He is @ 5 days old.

Anyway, one was rejected by the mom and pecked its head open. The nice woman i got it from took it in, put it on probiotics and electrolytes and neosporin on its wound. Thats when she noticed the little crest.

The problem is he is so wobbly when he walks and when he tries to clean himself he falls over. I feel so bad for him.

He eats and drinks fine. Its just the wobbles and the falling over...

Is there anything i can give him to help him? They are in chick starter as our feed store doesn't carry duck starter.

Any help is appreciated.

He may have suffered a brain injury- I think crested ducks are as vulnerable to that as Silkie chickens. You may do better posting on the duck threads at "Other Backyard Poultry.

I've also heard ducks can have a have a niacin deficiency which causes trouble walking. I would think it is a result of the pecking. Is the other crested duckling doing okay?
