my daughter fell this morning hitting the bator help i dont know what to do they are supposed to go into lockdown tonight . she broke the shell off 2 eggs and cracked 1 i can see the chick moving under the inner part , ho\\w do i post pics so you all can help

ive seen people use nail polish to cover the crack i dont have any nail polish so i used candle wax and everything seems fine my eggs are hatching today

I would use nail polish, then stick a tissue over it, then nail polish again, tissue again then finish with polish. JUST over the crack. The tissue will make it a bit stronger.

I haven't actually done this to eggs but I do it to torn nails/claws that have exposed the quick and it works wonders to keep the edges together. You may want to try

Oh, shoot.

I've read somewhere that you can place a *MOIST*, not wet, paper towel over a crack or a slow-hatching egg to keep the humidity up, but that's a bad break ... I'm not sure if the paper towel would do more harm than good.

I hope others have better advice. I'm so sorry.

I have used tape but most often I have used either wax or liquid band-aid. For the egg that is very broken I would wrap it in a moist paper towel. It doesn't look like the membrane is torn and keep the humidity up to around 70%. These are just my opinions. I'm sure you will get much better suggestions.

I all ready wrapped it in moist paper towel membrane is not broke but can see it move with the chick , waxed the other 2 , humidity is at 70 thank you all i was going crazy trying to figure out what to do . Thank you for helping with the pictures .

I wonder if you could visit a craft store and ask for some kind of soft plastic/gel that you could paint over the membrane with. When it dries it would keep the moisture in but stay soft and will stretch so won't restrict the chick as it grows....

I know the stuff I just can't remmeber what it's called.....

That is a good idea. Also, Liquid Band-Aid works great. The bottle has a little brush attached to the cap. I just paint it over the crack and put the egg back into the hatcher. Available at any drug store, grocery store or any store that has a Health and Beauty Aid Section.
