I have a 18 day old egg that is smashed with the membrane intact but has a hole in it. I took it from the hen and put it in the incubator. What can I do for it. There’s still movement

I had one just like that last summer, except that it was day 21/22 and mother left an egg like that in the nest, cold and crushed. I did the same as you, rushed it to an incubator. I kept the humidity up to 70-ish, which we would in lockdown anyway, and that would help keep the membrane moist. You can use very thin coat of coconut oil or something on that order to moisten the membrane, but if it looks okay, I'd leave it alone.

Mine took an entire extra day to hatch too. Not sure why.

He made it and grew into a fine rooster. I hope yours makes it too!
