this is my second time incubating eggs. when i candled a few of eggs around day 8-9 all had veining and things were looking like they were oing to be a much better hatch. now it is day 21 and no pips or anything. i wasn't able to remove the egg turned until the morning of day 19 and after i did this i bumped up the humidity. late in the day on day 20 i noticed that the hydrometer only read "HIGH" for the humitiy instead of a number. i figured this meant it was well above 75-80%. i removed a sponge and now have the humitiy around 65%.
i also didn't know untill today that past day 18 the incubator should be turned down slightly so i just did that. the eggs may have been at 100-101.5 since day one. i guess i am wondering if i killed all the eggs and should i lower my hopes for this hatch, or scap them completely due to these factors. any insight would be greatly appreciated. i am getting worried b/c last hatch (one with far more variation in temp and humitiy) things had piped and hatched by now but this hatch i still see nothing different about the eggs.

At this point all you can do is cross your fingers and hope. You don't see any movement or hear anything? Don't totally give up. I usually leave mine that don't hatch until day 23 anyway, just in case.

I never heard that the incubator should be turned down toward the end. In fact, with the Genesis it would be a little tricky to do so.

Why would that be?

yeah im not sure the temp thing is a huge of an issue as me possibly having drowned the chicks with too much humidity

my question now is how much humidity is too much? any help would be greatly appreciated. is 90% for a day or two enough to do it?

still no action with my eggs

still would like to know if the humidity was the cause my misfortune.

I'm new so I don't know and can't help but I just wanted to say I'm hoping for the best for you and the chicks...
