Help! day 23 and a chirping egg PICS ADDED!

SOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! I believe that silkie is resting after a LONG struggle to get out of that egg. Often chicks don't eat untll the 3rd day because they simply aren't hungry - because of the yolk sac. It's actually ok to leave them in the bator for 72 hours, or 3 days.

I would have but the wire bottom and other unhatched eggs made me sad. I figured it would be more comfy near the other chick, under the brooder lamp. It's holding it's own but unable to really get around as of yet. I'm wondering if it has a bit of splay leg too?

You are going to end up with a house chicken

Better go ahead and order those diapers and shoes for it

We made a leg splint to keep its legs parallel. Can stand but falls over and can't get back up. (Typing with one hand holding baby as it sings

Drinks when I bring it to water but doesn't eat. I tried mash and scrambled egg - which is so cannibalistic! No real interest. Rarely opens eyes fully. Maybe it cant see? It sits upright in paper towel donut and can get out but eventually falls over. What should I do??????????????????
I've been reading all kind of posts on the message board for hours and still don't know.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, no... I really wish I had an answer.
Thinking of you and your baby chick... I hope she ends up okay.
Have you tried yogurt?
I guess she is young for treats, but I think I would try anything about now.
You might want to try the sav-a-chic or gatorade... what does everyone else think?

Our southern states has "save a chick" I'm not sure what's in it, but you had it to a gallon of water. It seems to perk up my worn out babies. I've also given mine scrambled eggs & yogurt. With the yogurt I try to get something without artifical color/sugars. It's usually a greek variety. I know you've already tried the egg but i'd try again.

Also, have you kept him warm. How's the temp in your brooder?

Good luck! You are doing a wonderful job.
