Makea me feel bad about the one we lost, I'm not sure if I didn't get the tube down far enough, or if he was so far gone it didn't matter what we did.

You mentioned mucus in the mouth, was this before tubing? If so, I wanted to let you know that one on the signs of imminent death can be mucus in the mouth, so If it was there when you started tubing I don't think the death was related to the tubing.

Yeah the mucus was before I tubed. I even tried dipping his bill in water to see if he would swallow and rinse any of it out but he was too weak to even do that.

Thanks for that gives me a little peace that I didn't make a mistake in tubing him. For the future is there anything I could have done?
