The last egg is trying to hatch! We only had 2 left after DS tried to help the other 2 out too early.

You can hear it pecking and peeping inside. I am wondering what it is!

The one that's out has feathers on it's legs, and the silkie is the only feather-legged bird I've got, so I know it's hers. Now I'm just wondering if it's dad is the BR or the EE! LOL! It's a beautiful blue baby!

rofl.. that just reminded me of a joke... the i know it's hers line...
what did the blonde say when her doctor told her she was pregnant??......

are you sure it's mine?

sorry.... i had to...

are it's legs black like the silky? i don't have nor have i seen in person the silies... but i have EE's.. and they've all got the slate graying legs... the BR's have yellow legs right?? mine do, but i don't know if that's a cross the board thing?
if they're the color of silkie legs i think it could be either, if they're not that color i'm betting it's the EE's baby

Well, the legs are black. Black-black...not bluish-black. But, it only has 4 toes! With the feathers being blue with some white markings that are similar to the BR pattern, I would think that it was a BR mix, but, as dark as the legs are...it makes me wonder if it's EE mix, because wouldn't the yellow fade the legs out? Especially if the mom isn't pure silkie? Of course, she might not be the mom, but with black legs, I just assume she is. My other girls are BO, BR, RIR, and EE, so I wouldn't think any of those would have the black legs. And, she's my only silkie. I guess when the chick gets older, I'll figure it out?

The other chick is rocking and peeping in the egg, so I figure it will be today!

Well, the last one didn't make it.

It made it out, but looked like the mom accidentally smashed it? I think it was a BR/EE mix. It had marking like a BR, with green legs and a muff. I put in a couple of my DS's chicks he had so the baby wouldn't be lonely. The mom accepted them, even though they are about 2 weeks old.
