Help! Dog Rescue and Psycho perspective owners!

Yep.. i can see your concern if the wife didnt want the dog and the guy did...yet he stuck her with the dog....
Yup..i CAN understand you wanting the dog back for THAT reason.
Glad hes back! Good luck finding him a good home!

You know, I read over the facts that were presented and thought, 'nahhh...this sounds ok....' - it just goes to show that being there and hearing and seeing, is a lot better than hearing ABOUT it, LOL. Sometimes feelings and impressions just go beyond the facts.

Yes, we all have that sixth sense that is hard to get across in text.
Again they were really nice people (except for the hanging up on me.)
They just were not ready for a dog right now.

Here's Tucker!

He's 11 months of puppy!

And yes, hunting dogs can live with chickens. You just have to protect them both from each other, so you don't have any accidents! Even the best intentioned pup can't control himself if dinner lands in his lap. This boy actually caught a hen one day (she was an escape artist!) But he brought her to me completely unharmed. Now that's a soft mouth. The hen has never escaped again. Lucky, lucky, lucky!

He is gorgeous. Hope he finds a new home and it is not yours.

My wife tried that taking in Labs and finding them new homes. We have 4 living in our house. Now when she starts with the "I think I could find this dog a good home:, I know that translates into "Let's have another dog".

Thanks for caring.

I do know that some rescue groups are over-the-top, but not all of them. Thanks again!!

What a beautiful boy! Good for you for actively staying on top of what was happening and getting him out of there.

From the last litter of puppies that I bred, many years ago, I was left with 2 boys that didn't find homes until they were over a year old. I took them to obedience classes, put some championship points on them, and just hoped for the best. I had a lady lined up that seemed like a great owner for one of them, but I insisted that her husband and kids come out and meet the dog first too. Well, they came out, and the husband wouldn't even get out of the car to see the dog. I had to tell the lady 'sorry, no'. I think all dogs deserve to be in a home where they truly are members of the family, appreciated by all.

Glad it all worked out.

Just a thought for you. Since you did have a written contract with them that was great, but if they both refused to return the dog get a small claims court going against them since the police could do nothing. Do it at least 5 five days from the time the guy hung up.
keep all phone records.
also get a certified letter send to them at least once before filing.

Just for future references.
