You may have to use a smaller needle or give the shot subcutaneous. Pinch up some skin and as much muscle as you can. Go in at an angle with the needle. He's going to need some building up. Try meat builder with him. Mix a little with warm milk and a little egg yolk. This will give him some fat and extra protein. The baby parrot hand feeding formula mixed this way also works well. They think it is a treat and will usually gobble it down.

So people are still stealing chickens? That is crazy. I haven't even thought about people taking my chickens. That is awful. You should put up some cameras...and locks.

I bought two huge barns and they arrived yesterday. They have locks on all the handles and it came with a key chain with keys! So everyone's locked in and snug tonight! No worries now! * phew *!

BUT I guess this crap heads think this is funny. Pardon my French. Today I found a clump of silkie feathers in the cage that they were stolen out of. So now they're just messing with me. I'm about to get a bear trap and set it in front of the silkie cage and hope they lose their freaking leg..... Morons deserve it. I found two of the silkied laid out in my pasture de-breasted. And no signs of the 3rd white silkie so I guess he's still being held hostage. : ( :/

Where in Oregon are you? Close to Marion or Polk County? If so, I can come help you. I just went thru this one of our roos. Wasn't his neck, but I gave him antibiotic injections. I can possibly come help.
