HELP! Drake injured from fighting. =(

How about some updated pics now to compare. Sounds great he is doing so well. Just needed sometime to recover. One thing the neo may have done is kept flies from laying eggs in his wounds so keep and eye on that you don't want flies getting at any of his injuries if any are still open.

The pics I just posted are from this morning. It was hard to get a good picture because he kept struggling to get down. I consider that a good sign. He has definitely got his spunk back. The first few days he was too exhausted to even try to put up a fight. Initially his skin was different shades red with blood here and there. Now there is scabbing and tough skin in shades of dark brown and yellow. There is no puss or anything. It just feels like large scabs. He has also been scratching, another sign of healing usually. He is now eating and foraging again. He is also walking at a normal pace instead of a slow crawl. I havn't seen him in the duck house at all today since I let them all out. He seems to be resuming his old habits. Any idea how long it takes for the scabs to fall off?

My moms dog got ahold of one of our drakes and we had him in the tub with food and water to rest over night after flushing with water then putting polysporine on the wounds. He was outside the next day but I would go catch him and flush with water and polysporine the wounds 1-2 times a day for a week. I didn't see him eat or drink at first but keep him quiet and gave him the option and he's back to normal now

How's your boy still doing well?

Thanks you so much for checking!
I was going to post these updated pictures tonight. I'm so happy! He is healing so well. I discontinued Neosporin use 2 days ago. I've still been using the eye wash twice daily. I'm not really sure if I need to though at this point. Everything appears to be healing up great! His eyes are opening further. Some of his scabs are falling off; you can see one coming off right now on his right eye. Best of all, I'm pretty sure he is regaining his eyesight in his left eye! He is acting about 95% normal now.
Everyone keeps saying that ducks have an amazing ability to bounce back when they are injured, but I had a very difficult time believing he could come back from this. Last week, we thought we might have to cull him just to help keep him from suffering. A week later, he's almost back to his old self again. I'm so amazed and happy!
Thanks =D
