YES!!!!Hey Kiki, if bantams count as -1 shouldn't a quail be -1 squared?
I have quail. They are quiet as adults too. The rooster's 'crow' is cute. Not like a chicken's crow. They just make whistling and chirping sounds. I say birds count as one animal. I started with chickens. I have ducks, turkeys, and quail now. I had button quail, but a dumb raccoon killed them in what I thought was a predator proof cage. I'm currently tried to hatch what eggs I had from them. They are the cutest things ever. These little quail are so quiet I have to check on them constantly (I am sitting right next to them mind you) to make sure they are a live.
I had no clue they were this quiet.
Never a peep.
I am sure that will change once they get big but for now...they don't count.

I would be interested too... eventually tune to repeat mantra...”I’m starting small ...I’m starting small” keep repeating...
I can’t wait until they all grow up. They are just darling.I happen to really like my Welsh Harlequin they have been super fun to raise in the five weeks since I had my first set hatch. But I also love Cayugas they are a very attractive bird. I have two I managed to hatch last week and they are adorable.
