Ok so this isn't the first time my magpie started limping but I caught the cause! My silver appleyard girl mounted her while they were taking turns and then my magpie started to limp. This is the second time this has happened and the first time she got over it after a couple days. Is there anything I can do to help the limp or stop the big girl from mounting her without having her separate? She doesn't mount my other ducks, just the magpie.

This is just what females do they mount each other mine usually only do play mating in the pool. You could put your Magpie in a separate run for a few days so she can get a break. But it will probably start again as soon as you let her out.

I checked back on my magpie and she isn't limping anymore. She's usually the top for all my girls but my appleyard only mounts her it's so odd. They also don't do it daily. Every couple or few days they play mate each other for about 10 minutes then they're good for a little while. I'm not sure how normal it is for that frequency but over the past 3 weeks the appleyard has only mounted the magpie twice. We have outdoor cameras so I can keep a close eye on activity

Good to hear. I have 2 Runner drakes and look at 2 of my Runner females  my Muscovy don’t play mate. I have no idea why they don’t.
