Ok thanks so much also the vet where I went to has never ever performed a surgery on a duck because I live in a town where they usually only see cats and dogs so I will clean it well and have already separated him. Will the females forget him? And also how long should I keep him isolated? Is it true the penis on a duck falls off and a new one grows?

Females will not forget him. Keep him isolated until you know it isn’t coming out and staying out. I heard that too that drakes penis falls off but that isn’t true now if the penis stays out and gets infected then eventually it will fall off from infection but you may lose the drake too so don’t ignore this keep him clean provide water for bathing tub would work and keep his pallius moist. Hopefully it will retract on its own if not then another vet visit maybe in the works.

I have all drakes, and my remaining three started looking for their brother just before it got dark while he was at the hospital. Your girls won't forget him.

Only about 5 cm is showing so that is good and at least it is not like 30 cm.

I put Vaseline on it and let it be. After the tissue was dead we trimmed off that part of the penis that was black. It went back inside and my Drake produced Ducklings on my Hens...
