Where did you read to apply Vaseline? I would ignore that advice unless it came from a vet. As for antibiotics, maybe some amoxicillin?
Read this:A lady that is dealing with her duck with the same issue took her duck to the vet and was told to apply Vaseline to keep it moist.
Go to a store and see what they have. What stores are you near?
Welcome to BYC!I had no experience with a prolapsed duck, but I've had prolapsed snakes (bowels) and a possum (penis) ,
I used coconut oil to keep it moist which worked well.
Id just routinely clean with saline gently, add oil, and repeat as needed.
The possum penis did go back in after about a day and a half. I know a possum is very different, I just mean keeping it clean and moist seemed to allow for swelling or whatever was stopping it going in to stop. You shouldn't give Marsupials antibiotics and it didn't look swollen so I was feeling lost.
Hopefully your duck does the same
