I’m worried because I have to go to work later this afternoon and am scared to leave her like this.@Opal8 I saw this thread yesterday but didn't know how much you might have helped with the shell removal. I know it's so tempting to dig in and give them a hand but it usually ends up ok if you do. The danger is getting bleeding started which did happen but it doesn't seem like it was much to worry about at all. I've done that too and it's a panic situation but mostly it can be stopped which yours did.
I'm really thinking since you are looking at a bunch of veins it's not really ready and it just needs to rest and absorb the rest of the veins and yolk. I have no idea why it started zipping when it wasn't ready but sometimes these things happen.
When it's ready those veins you are seeing will be gone. Remain calm and just wait it out. Not much you can really do now but let the little one rest and absorb.
