HELP! Duckling hatched with twisted leg!!

I used a puppy pad in each tote brooder and just a gooseneck desk lamp for heat but it was very warm when they hatched in June. I'm in Georgia so outside temperatures were already nice. I also put a towel over the brooder top to keep the heat in and I guess I could have used the cover it came with but the towel was easier to adjust. I have a picture but it's not very good. You can see that I've got a towel on the top.

I have one of those lamps!! If I keep the box upstairs it’s warmer than downstairs as well. I’m only planning in case I have a special needs situation. I’ll be posting about my hatching, everyone was a great help last time

Well Scotty, you'll be all ready for the next time. You did the best you could and we are all learning every day. I made a huge mistake this year that cost 2 of my little sweet ducks their lives and it just breaks my heart.

Hugs. I felt so heartbroken about our two Little sweetlings but it gave me comfort we could end their suffering. I think they would have got pecked to death in nature! Im not so naive going into it this time. Next hatch will Be this time next week.

You'll do great and just remember if you run into any trouble there is always someone on here that is ready and willing to help! One of the great members helped me every step of the way through a very difficult assisted hatch and the little duck lived! She stayed with me the whole day and it was a great comfort.

I'm in Dallas which is west of Marietta and we are at the south end of Paulding county nearer Villa Rica and Hiram than Dallas. I hadn't ever heard any of those towns before we bought this place. Used to live in Duluth and Lawrenceville. We love it out here though because it's so peaceful but not a hassle to go get whatever we might need because everything is within 10 miles! Hah, like Tractor Supply! We've got almost 10 acres and a big barn so I've got plenty of room for whatever I want to do which is ducks right now!

Sounds like Heaven!! I use to live out near Dallas. I went to Chattahoochee Tech out there north Forsyth county is still very much country..however so much city is trying to move here due to the ridiculous property taxes where they are and how good ours are here...but i will enjoy it while it lasts. Good to meet another Georgian
