HELP! Duckling hatched with twisted leg!!

How do i help poor little guy he spent last 48 hours trying to hatch now that he has i just noticed he has a twisted leg and foot!! Please help me help him i am freaking out and feel so bad

I recently had one that took forever to hatch and was kind of like yours. It might just be a "time" thing where you just have to give him a little and it will work it self out and get right. They have a hard time after being all cramped up in that egg shell for so long.

Thank you and so glad to hear yours needed time and it was better...it gives me hope. My heart is breaking cause that means he spent 48 hours pipped at the wrong end pushing out with one leg...what a fighter!! Thank you!

Don't worry too much because many times their legs will straighten on their own and if they don't, many can be corrected with splinting. Please do post some pictures as soon as you can.

Thank you!! I really really REALLY hope so he is still drying in the bator and as soon as i get him into my transition brooder i will take pics and post them. What are some of your best splint hacks...

Your little Duckling is probably still absorbing his yolk in his belly so that's the reason it's feet are not open. I place those into a margarine container in the incubator till they find their feet.
