Help....Egg Bound chicken not responding to treatment

I have a 5 year old Americana Hen. she started up laying again after most of the winter off. She became lathargic and acting egg bound 2 days ago. I began with warm water baths, liquid calcium and abdomen massage. She has grown more lathargic and I believe she isn't going to make it. I checked to see how far in the egg is and i can't feel it. Her vent has become swollen and her poop is running down her back side. She seems to not be trying anymore. Is there anything else I can do??

Are you sure her vent is swollen? Maybe she has a prolapsed vent.

Is her abdomen swollen? Egg binding is actually not very common, it is much more likely to be Egg Yolk Peritonitis which is a bacterial infection. If you have a vet nearby they may have a suprelorin implant available which I believe can stop them laying for enough time to recover from it. If not, then antibiotics like linco-spectin are your best hope.
