Help- Eye Issue

I just went out to check on my 2 Polish chickens, and the right eye on one of them looks frozen shut/closed....It does not look swollen, or injured, no blood, it's just closed.

I am in NH and the temp. are in the teens.....They are in a closed coop....Any ideas? Is this common? Will it resolved itself???

Hopefully it is an injury that you can't see. Could be on the eyeball itself. Chickens so commonly peck at eyes. And it only takes a tiny scratch to hurt quite a bit.

You might put a little Neosporin ointment or an antibiotic ophthalmic ointment from the feed store on the closed eye, some will work its way in and if nothing else will mae him more comfortable.
