I want to start raising quail. I’m having very little luck finding anyone selling Coturnix quail chicks near Palmer, Alaska. Any help would be much appreciated.

First, have you tried the various Alaska Facebook animal pages?

Second... shocker though it sounds... I had GREAT luck with shipped quail eggs. Maybe because they are so tiny, they are less likely to get broken or scrambled even with shipping all of the way to Alaska.

Sorry, but I don't know anyone currently raising them.

They are an excellent choice though. Super fast from chick to eggs and meat.

My lack of patience took over today. Lol
I did end up ordering 25 ready to hatch eggs from MyShire Farm. Hopefully I will have the same good luck as you! Thanks!

Hello! I am also in Palmer Alaska abs trying to find quail and have zero luck. Did you ever find someone who sells?

Yes I actually did! Alaska Feeder Farm on Facebook had some for sale. If you have Facebook just message them about their price and size list for live quail. I also ordered an incubator and I got thirty fertilized eggs from a quail breeder in Texas. I have 9 days left on the incubation, hopefully I have a decent hatch rate! I also ordered eggs from Myshire farm, they are a ways out though because of back orders.

Tell us how the eggs do... in 9 or so days. :fl

Your best bet is checkout Alaska Craigslist because the quail had been raised and use to the cold Alaska climate.

I'll be moving to Alaska next winter and this is good information. I raise button quails and trying to take all the routes to take them with. Before I move there, I have been thinking about raising other quails and bringing them as well. There are simple to get where I'm at now and are $5-$10 each or 2 hours away someone sells them for .50 cents. Are there any certain kinds or colors that are hard to find in Alaska? That way I can start breeding before and during
