Help finding the right coop

Personally I wouldn't risk building a coop unless you are extremely experienced. I built my own coop and lasted a year before a fox broke in and stole a chicken so after that I tended to stick to manufactured coop's. Manufactured coops tend to be extremely overpriced but what can you do and I would rather spend a bit more money and have a secure coop rather than have a dodgy self made coop built by me.

Another option instead of an overpriced, tiny manufactured coop is to buy a storage shed from a big box store like Lowe's or Home Depot.
Then add the things chickens need like roosts, nest boxes and windows for fresh air and natural light.

A couple examples for you.

You could come in WAY under 500 bucks even with buying a jig saw, a circular saw and an impact driver.

I got a prefab, wish I just built it myself, even if I have the carpentry skills of a dead turtle. I suggest if you do get a prefab stay away from things made in China or made with Chinese fir. Mine was made in China claiming to be pine. It wasn't pine it was Chinese fir sprayed with pine tree scent. The stuff is basically balsa wood, sneeze on it and it breaks.

..and you know this how?
Fir does smell like pine, as they are in the same family.
Douglas fir is a great lumber, often preferred.

Yeah, I was very suspicious of the wood quality of my prefab because of how it split and was very VERY soft, so I sent the manufacturer a message about it. They said it was Chinese fir and that it wad mislabeled. So I asked if they could change the description of the coop so others wouldn't be misled, but they never got back to me, never changed the description
