Help! First time duck mom! Rescued pekin ducklings

Spoiling them, or any creature actually, is far too easy. I need to break the spoiling habit soon. Thankfully my hubs doesn't seem to mind it yet. Or maybe just doesn't want to know how much we're spending on duck groceries. At least they're not as bad as my dogs yet. Those have gone through phases where they'll only eat if they're being hand fed.

Hi guys so i have notice one of my ducklings breathing thru the mouth. His nose holes are all clean,has plenty of water deep enough to dunk it in. Eating normal drinking normal. Still getting vitamins in the water i also still put the b complex in the food daily. So not sure if this is a normal thing or not. Hes always drinking water. I still have the heat lamp in the pen but the pen is a decent temperature not too hott not too cold.

Pekin about 4 weeks i believe now

From all I have read about Pekins they over heat easily. Turn off their lamp and see if that help. At their age they really don't need it unless it's cold where you are

I was told to keep the light on untill they have feathers :/ ill keep it off and see

Where are you keeping them inside or out? Temps day an night?

Inside temps are probably fine as long as an air conditioner isn’t blowing over them. When I had my Runners inside I closed the vent in the area they were brooding in and at 3 weeks they were through with the heat plate.

They are in my room i have an ac going but it doesnt blow on them and i make sure it doesnt get super cold. And i turn the light on mostly at night or if they look cold
