Help! First time duck mom! Rescued pekin ducklings

To the helping them get comfortable with people issue, this may sound REALLY odd, but if you're willing/able to play in water with them (once the head owie is healed enough to get wet) that seems to help them get comfortable with people. At least it did with my more standoffish duckies. Mine tend to demand showers multiple times a day now and peep like crazy when they hear the shower start. They love "swimming" around my feet in the shower or will just sit with their heads tipped up, water showering down on their silly faces, letting it wash their stress away. The smallest ones that tend to dislike being held will sit completely still in my hand as long as they're in the shower.

The ducks are getting big!! I blinked and they doubled in size today we gave them blended up lettuce with water.. lettuce soup they loved it! They are getting better at handling they get handled a few times a day!

They have grit in thier pen i sprinkle it somtimes on the ground and put a pinch in with thier food to make sure they eat it

:woot

Out of curiosity, do they stay out of the milk jug waterer? I tried that with mine earlier this summer thinking it would keep things cleaner and more dry. I ended up with ducklings "trapped" in the waterer. I considered it a fail and gave up.

Mine stay out of the water jug.. they still make a mess with it.. when they are bigger ima get somthing differnt but for now this works. We are starting real food this week what are your ducks favorite treats or recommendations

Dried mealworms is duck crack, thawed green peas, shredded romaine lettuce. Mine even love chopped boiled egg. Be sure to always offer chick grit when feeding anything other than starter.
