Help! First time duck mom! Rescued pekin ducklings

Been trying to handle them as much as i can hoping that will help so he isnt so scared to be touched or have ppl near him. I have to check his cut everyday so im hoping he just sees im a good person hopefully. Sprinkles the other duck once caught loves to sit on my lap and be petted loves to cuddle up in your lap. Im hoping brantley is just biting becuase hes scared or maybe cuz he feels he has to be in charge becuase of getting picked on by the other ducks

Just spent the last hour handling the ducklings was bite a few times in a firm voice said no anytime he bit hard or went after me and bit me. Gettting better with handling for sure and i think feeling better tol

I'm no duckling expert, but have spent the summer with a LOT of them (not sure what made my ducks so prolific this summer). I've had a few biters and it didn't seem like they were necessarily biting because they didn't like me. Some seem to see it as a game. Even when the ducklings are playing together they'll nip or bite occasionally. My biter will still bite or nip at the dogs when he's trying to play (we never leave them together without supervision). My poor dogs are terrified of our chickens and ducks. Won't go in the yard if the fowl are out. Anyway. Just saying, keep up the great work being patient with him and don't let the bites discourage you. They may be love bites! :)

When can i start giving grit and meal worms i bought dried meal worms and chick grit but didnt wanna give it to them too soon they are a week old today

Put down the grit in a small bowl take the meal worms and crush them a little then introduce to your duckling they will be addicted before you know it.

He may outgrow the biting as he gets a little bigger. I have one, almost 2 months old now, who was quite the biter right from the start. Shortly after he was fluffed up he jumped out of my hand, sprinted across the couch and bit one of our cats in the face multiple times. The cat looked shocked. It was pretty funny. Anyway. He bit everyone and everything at every opportunity. Bit the dogs, the bigger ducklings, me, my husband, the cats. He would also bite very hard if he got a good piece of skin. He left marks that lasted for days a few times! I was concerned that he'd grow up to be a vicious beast and he has me wrapped around his little wing tips so ...
Anyway. He's almost 2 months old now and rarely even nibbles at us. He taps me with his bill when he's begging for treats in the kitchen but no more biting!
He just discovered he had a biter and was testing it out! :love
