Help! first time hatching!

You know we should do that! Ask major hatcheries if they put duck eggs on side or upright!

I have tried that many many times, and just couldn't under stand what the heck I was doing wrong, until I watched and learned from my girls and tried to duplicate exactly what they were doing. That's when the Lay me down hit.. My girls lay them down soooo I tried it and success BEGAN.. LOL

Makes sense...people trying to do a birds job...LOL!!! I thought I had an issue with my bator, but it has worked fine every other time

This was my only failed duck hatch in 9 years of hatching them(I only hatch ducks once a year

...but that could change!)

The pictures on their website show what looks like eggs stood up in cabinet incubators.

Umm when I had mine i let them swim in about 2-3 inches not even high when they were 1 week old, how old are yours?

my first of 14 came out last Saturday and all were out by Monday

Ok yeah, a couple of inches because their oils on their future feathers haven't produced yet and could possibly drown them

They have a blast in it!! I personally think when they witness their first little "pool" they go crazy!!!
