Help!!! Found an abandoned goose egg!!! Most likely Canadian, I'm going to try to hatch it!

Go back and read the reply from @castportpony. Then read the regulation/law that was linked in that reply. Since you've already committed an illegal act by taking the egg, I probably wouldn't update this thread with anything other than you've taken the egg back where you found it and left it there.

Thank you so much! I'll keep this thread posted on the process.

Since we don't know for sure it's a Canada goose egg, since it's not like you took it from a nest or anything, then there's a chance that it's not illegal at all and maybe it'll turn out to be from a domestic breed and you'll be able to keep the baby. In which case you'd have to buy another gosling to keep it company, of course ;)

It was literally on a football field. it would have gotten trampled or another unassuming student would have taken it. Hmm... Oh! I just remembered! My bio teacher has a collection permit for the classroom. I wonder if that would extend to this???

So even though the egg would die on it's own, it's illegal to hatch it??? We have a zoo nearby who takes abandoned goslings, bu they aren't equipped with incubators.
Hello I found a geese egg where I work but the mother geese will not take care of it because of a wandering coyote and there is not an s for her to have for her safety and her baby I feed her and she laid it right where I feed her I think she trusted me and asking me to take care of it because there is nowhere to nest for her there where I work in the golf course and there's always a coyote going by when she's always in the water so she will not get attacked at night! What do I d
